Yesterday Mayor Jim Kenney joined Superintendent Dr. William Hite and other education advocates at Hill-Freedman World Academy for the School District of Philadelphia’s annual “bell-ringing” ceremony. Hill-Freedman, with the support of a nearly $2 million grant from PSP, is in the process of adding a high school to their already high-performing middle school program. You can read more in today’s Inquirer.
This year also marks the opening of five other PSP grantee schools: Science Leadership Academy Middle School, TECH Freire Charter High School, MaST Community Charter School II, Independence Charter School – West and KIPP West Philadelphia Elementary Academy. Congratulations to their school leaders, teachers and staff for a successful start to the year.
We are proud to support these and other great schools throughout the city to help ensure that every child in every neighborhood receives a great education. Please contact us if you want to get involved.
Sincerely,
-The PSP team
