A new vision for Neumann-Goretti High School

Yesterday we joined partners and students to celebrate our new investment in Neumann-Goretti, a Catholic high school in South Philadelphia. Watch this clip on 6ABC Action News or read about in today’s Inquirer.

The $300,000 grant is supporting the leadership team’s comprehensive plan to ensure all students are prepared for success in college or careers; specifically, the school is eliminating the traditional tracking system in an effort to close the current achievement gap.

As Neumann alumnus State Representative Bill Keller said, “this sort of bold leadership should serve as a model for educational transformation in our city.”

To date, PSP has invested $53 million in Philadelphia schools to create better educational opportunities for more than 20,000 students; roughly a third of these grants are fueling school turnarounds like this in neighborhoods across the city.
