Great Schools Fund invests in the future of Catholic high schools

Today we announced a $600,000 investment in Faith in the Future to support increased enrollment at eight Catholic high schools in Philadelphia. Read about the grant in today’s Inquirer.

The Great Schools Fund investment in Faith in the Future – a new nonprofit organization formed to oversee Catholic education and the management of 17 area high schools – will specifically support planning for eight Philadelphia high schools that serve approximately 6,200 students and have the capacity to serve nearly double that. These high schools have among the highest college enrollment rates in Philadelphia, and our investment will help Faith in the Future improve access for more families.

To date, the Great Schools Fund has invested almost $20 million to create more than 10,000 seats in high-quality schools (Learn more about the Great Schools Fund portfolio). Of that, we’ve invested $2.4 million in Catholic schools, which enroll about 12 percent of Philadelphia students. These schools play a crucial role in the citywide effort to ensure every child has access to a great school.
