Lydia leads the Great Schools Fund Investment team, working to implement a school funding strategy in support of PSP’s mission to create and expand excellent schools. She works with a team to conduct comprehensive assessments for all funding applications, evaluate investment performance and analyze school data, and provide guidance and support around funding implementation to maximize impact.
Prior to joining PSP, Lydia served as the Chief Academic Officer for KIPP Philadelphia Schools. As the Chief Academic Officer, Lydia set the academic vision for the region and managed School Leaders. Prior to joining KIPP Philadelphia Schools, Lydia worked for New Leaders managing, coaching, and mentoring Assistant Principals to get them ready for school leadership. In 2003 Lydia started KIPP San Francisco Bay Academy in San Francisco, Ca. She led the school for nine years. When she left, the school scored in the top 10% of all middle schools in the state of California. During that time she also worked for the KIPP Regional Support Office launching the KIPP Through College department. Prior to KIPP, Lydia worked for a School Reform Model in San Francisco and at Johns Hopkins University. Lydia taught in Baltimore and worked for the Baltimore City School District early in her career.
